Saree features three different colors creating a 3D color hue. The body of the saree has traditional begampuri weaving style motifs woven as vertical stripes. The border has a sleek fuchsia pink color stripe going all along the length of the saree.
The pallu has highlighted stripes and designs in white and pink colors, this combination never goes out of fashion and is evergreen. This comes with a Government-issued handloom mark.
This is paired with a stitched blouse made in black self striped cotton blouse. The sleeves of the blouse are adorned with a matching thread hand embroidery creating a delicate border and making it a perfect match for this smart drape.
Begampuri is a small town famous for its saree weaving tradition in Bengal. Begampuri sarees can be identified by their loosely woven, light-weight, and translucent made and have contrasting borders. These are also emphasized by a serrated edge motif. Narrow borders are woven with designs of a variety of stripes and figured motifs using dyed cotton yarn on the weft.
Cotton sarees are locally known as 'Matapar' sarees, which means they have simple borders without any ornamentation and are woven with coarser cotton yarn. They come mainly in colored stripes and check patterns, with designs on the border.
