Collection: Daastaan-e-Ajrakh

A refined take on classic craftsmanship, this Maroon Ajrakh Modal Silk Gharchola Saree stands out with its subtle variation in print—where traditional Ajrakh blocks are delicately interwoven within the Gharchola grid. Handcrafted with 100% natural dyes on fluid modal silk, its maroon base glows with understated depth. The golden woven border adds just the right amount of shimmer, making it ideal for both day functions and intimate celebrations. A piece that quietly commands attention—make it yours today.

About The Craft: Ajrakh Craft, rooted in Gujarat and Rajasthan, India, is a heritage-rich textile tradition celebrated for its intricate hand block printing and 100% natural dyes. Derived from "Azrak," meaning blue, the craft boasts a stunning range of colors and symmetrical patterns. Artisans meticulously carve wooden blocks to create detailed designs. This labor-intensive process involves multiple dyeing and resist printing stages, often taking weeks per piece. Ajrakh fabrics epitomize nature, spirituality, and the profound cultural legacy of the region. Beyond textiles, they are a testament to the fusion of tradition and sustainability, crafting pieces that are both visually striking and culturally significant.

A Gharchola saree is a traditional Gujarati weave known for its signature grid or checkered pattern, often created with tie-dye techniques like Bandhani. Worn by brides and during auspicious occasions, it symbolizes prosperity and heritage. Typically crafted in silk or silk blends and embellished with zari, the Gharchola beautifully blends ritual with elegance.
