Khandua is a tale of traditional "bandha" produced from Odisha. The design process is called "poetry of the loom". This saree design portrays auspicious elephants, deer, petaled flowers, a unique Orissan animal called Nabagunjara, a doula Kumbha. The borders and the pallu have tremendous variety and each one of them is attractive and praiseworthy. The inspiration of all its designs comes from nature. It gives excellent rectilinear ikat patterns in the finished weave.
