This is a pure modal silk ajrakh saree in beautiful blue colour with hand block ajrakh print.
Saree features an impressive floral print in the body of the saree. The pallu has conspicuous stripes and geometrical shape designs and motifs in natural colours. Cone-shaped geometrical blocks run through the length of the saree creating a smart border.
Ajrakh cloth carries many meanings. Ajrakh patterns use complex geometry to create starry constellations in indigo, madder, black, and white across lengths of cloth. The shapes and motifs of Ajrakh echo the architectural forms of Islamic architecture’s intricate jali windows and trefoil arches.
Ajrakh saree is made in a sixteen step process of washing, dyeing, printing, and drying which requires a high level of skill and concentration in order to keep colors fast and even. Pomegranate seeds, gum, Harde powder, wood, flour of Kachika, flower of Dhavadi, alizarine and locally cultivated Indigo are just some of the natural resources that printers in this craft.
